Precious water
Bay cultivation is intensive, and water plays a crucial role. For that reason, we invested in water recovery systems many years ago. All irrigation water that does not remain in the pot is collected and reused. Rainwater is also given a second life. Beneath the greenhouses, a reservoir with a storage capacity of four million litres (supplemented by additional buffers) allows us to collect water in winter and remain self-sufficient during summer, even throughout extended dry periods.
We are equally conscious of our energy consumption. Thanks to solar panels and battery storage, we generate a large share of the electricity required for pumps, irrigation systems and watering equipment ourselves.
Sustainable cultivation
All our plants are grown in pots. When you consider that we propagate around 100,000 young plants each year, you understand the scale involved… and therefore the number of pots required. For this reason, we work exclusively with recycled pots.
In addition, we use organic fertilisers and targeted techniques to minimise the use of crop protection products. Specialised machinery ensures that treatment is applied only where necessary. Even simple solutions, such as recycled pot covers to suppress weeds, make a meaningful difference. The result is environmentally responsible bay cultivation that guarantees strong and healthy plants.
Reliable quality
This approach is recognised through our MPS-A+ certification, the highest level within this system. We are also GAP-certified. These labels reflect trust and quality for our professional partners and clients alike, while providing added value for the end customer, who increasingly prioritises sustainability in purchasing decisions.
